Dropped into Robina Town Centre briefly today, in between bookkeeping clients.
How unhelpful is that note that says “Back in 15 minutes” !!?!
As bookkeepers, we work out the bookkeeping tasks to be performed, estimate the time to perform those bok keeping tasks, and then set about to complete the bookwork in the allocated time frame
It’s all about saving our bookeeping clients’ time and money
No different when undertaking our own office administration; we had a couple of errands to run, including picking up the mail from the post office. Since the whole task should have taken less than fifteen minutes, parked in a loading zone (20 mins max all vehicles)
Needed to pick up an item from a store near the old camponile (which has been demolished in the name of progress)
The shop was closed, and there was a handwritten note stuck to the roller shutters
“Back in 15 minutes”
How unhelpful is that note? What has it told anyone that they didn’t already know? The shop is closed – Ok. So do you hang around waiting, or move on.
Well, if the shop was only going to be closed for 15 minutes and you arrived 13 minutes later, you’d probably wait around a couple of minutes.
But what if the shop had only just closed and you had to wait around for a nother 14 minutes?
To make matters worse, we could have ordered the product online, saved money, and also time – but we wanted to support the local business owner.
We’ve talked about customer service previously, and always promote support other small businesses – so it’s very disappointing when a small business that you’ve been trying to support let’s you down with something so simple
The question is: Will there be a next time? Do you weigh up the cost of supporting a local small business compared to saving money and time by shopping online?
Have a think about that – we’ll be back in 15 minutes
