In Mudgeeraba there’s a challenge with mixing business and the GCCC.

With the Local Council elections coming up soon, there’s certainly time for a change in Division 9 where King Teddy has been ruling the roost for too long.

It’s all very well being in bed with the big end of town developers, but they hardly represent the small business owners in The Mudgeeraba and Gold Coast Hinterland area.

For the past few years no one has been game to stand up to King Teddy – but now Glenn Tozer has stepped forward, Ted’s getting his knickers in a Knot.

Here’s what Glenn had to say at the Mudgeeraba Farmers Markets recently ..

Division 9 is in the south west region of the Gold Coast and includes the suburbs of:

Advancetown, Austinville, Bonogin, Gilston, Highland Park, Lower Beechmont, Mudgeeraba, Natural Bridge, Numinbah Valley, Reedy Creek, Springbrook, Tallai and Worongary

Maybe you’ve finally realised that there is a better way to get your Robina bookkeeping done, and that there may well be benefits in using a professional bookkeeping service for your Gold Coast business.

There’s many owners and operators of small businesses from Coolangatta to Coomera that think they can save money by doing the bookkeeping themselves, or getting a friend or relative to “do the bookkeeping”.

That’s as crazy as sending a young trainee salesman out to secure a multimillion dollar deal with your most valuable client!

Surely you’d want to have the best possible opprtunity to get a deal that will move your business forward, so you’d send the most experienced and can best performer in your team to represent your business, for fear of losing such an important contract.

Why then is that some Robina business owners feel that bookkeeping is a necessary evil to keep the Tax Office happy each quarter or year end?

Good bookkeeping is fundamental to your business
If you don’t have a good solid bookkeeping system in place, how can you make informed financial decisions? Without an upto date set of books you have no idea how your Robina business is performing.

“I see my accountant each year!”, you say.

Yes, and they are using last year’s figures and not the current financial year!

It costs you money for your accountant to go through your figures with a fine tooth comb, so they’ll only be going on the information that’s supplied – unless you want to pay your accountant to do the bookkeeping that your wife, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, mother or mother-in-law has already done!

Now you’re here, the first thing you need to do is contact our Robina bookkeeping service, and start saving yourself time and Money

<img align="right"src="http://www.robinabookkeeping.com.au/robina-bookeeping/robina-Book-keeping-you-win-some-you-lose-some.jpg" alt="Robina Bookkeeping: You Win Some, You Lose Some" />Our Robina bookkeeping team have seen some changes recently: You win some and you lose some.

It’s a strange expression really when applied in the business world. We may gain new clients – but we don’t always “win” them.

Have you ever thought that sometimes you’d be better off without certain clients? Somehow the chemistry’s just not there. There’s a friction from the very beginning, you have a bumpy ride, and then one day you decide to call it quits.

That doesn’t mean that you lose. Often you’ve just created a win-win. The client’s happy because they can move forward with however they want to develop, and you win because you’ve lost a millstone around your neck that has started to affect your working relationship with other clients.

Our Robina bookkeeping team have had a few millstones over the years. Some of them have caused us to nearly drown. Others have been fairly easy to cut loose.

You have to remember that when you engage a professional bookkeeping service, there’s no secrets. Our Robina bookkeeping team will reveal things that you may have been trying to hide or brush under the carpet.

We’ve even been asked on occasion to run two sets of books, or do things that are just not right. Well, the buck stops here, buccko! Because we don’t want to, or need to do that sort of bookkeeping.

We don’t want to wake up with a horse’s head in the bed, or be gunned down in a dark alleyway. No doubt you can find bookkeepers that are prepared to “not see things” . Of course, what we don’t see we don’t know, but just because we don’t see them doesn’t mean that the blood-sucking vampires at the ATO won’t find them with their overpiced over complicated and highly efficient +$1000million computer system.

As we say in our Robina bookkeeping team: You win some and you lose some.

<img align="right"src="http://www.robinabookkeeping.com.au/robina-bookeeping/first-aid-help-bookkeeping.jpg" alt=How A Bookkeeper Helps Your Robina Business" />If you’ve never used a Robina bookkeeping service then you may well ask how a bookkeeper helps your Robina business.

You want to cut down on unnecessary expenses, and save money wherever you can. A great place to start would be by doing the bookkeeping yourself. Right?

Wrong!

Of course we’ll say that, we’re a Robina bookkeeping service! It’s in our interest to promote a Robina bookkeeping service to local business owners.

It’s also in our interest to show you that we really do care about bookkeeping clients in Robina. We’ve seen so many examples of how cheap bookkeeping has virtually destroyed some Robina businesses. How the cash flow has dried up. How business owners have paid more hard earned income to the blood-sucking ATO than was necessary.

We’ve shown local Robina businesses how to save time and money by implementing simple and streamlined bookkeeping systems.

You’re probably working flat-out running your business. Losing sleep, burning the candle at both ends. Striving to build up an asset that will hopefully return you a decent profit.

So why is it that you think you should hold back on one of the most important aspects of your Robina business – the bookkeeping – keeping a handle on the cash flow – knowing where you are making /losing money, etc etc.

If you don’t know, or don’t understand, then you need to call us TODAY, and discover how a bookkeeper will help your Robina business.

- Yes, that’s right, but not the 28th January!

He forgot that the December quarter BAS is always due in February, so then came the quiet sigh of relief.

However, because the ATO have automatically granted a one month extension, if the bookkeeping for your Robina business isn’t in order, then you may find completing the BAS by the end of February to be a challenge.

Not a problem for our Robina Bookeeping business – that’s what we do: Fix up the mess.

We’ll hunt high and low for all the documentation to get your books correct and upto date and ready for the lodging of your business activity statement (BAS)

To avoid disappointment, contact us NOW, so that we can shuffle a few things around in the calendar and make some time to get your bookeeping upto date and prepared for the BAS that’s due 28 February 2012

<img align="right"src="http://www.robinabookkeeping.com.au/robina-bookeeping/dentist-robina-bookkeeping.jpg" alt="How Much For Bookkeeping Fees for dentist robina" />Every week we are asked how much for bookkeeping fees. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s a bit like phoning up a car yard and asking how much a car costs.

Rebecca told us: “I’m enquiring on behalf of my husband who has a medium sized dentistry business turning over $1.8m a year.

He currently uses Quickbooks.

Would you please advise your hourly rates and your expected annual fees based on the practice turnover.”

The amount of bookkeeping involved has very little relation to the turnover of a business

We need much more information to be able to help you, such as:
1. Do you have a bookkeeping system in place?
2. Are your books upto date?
3. Does the work need to be done onsite?
4. How many bank accounts / credit cards
5. what volume of paperwork is there?
6. Payroll? How many staff?
7. What version of Quickbooks are you using?

Have you noticed that you can get a hamburger, fizzy drink, and chips for around $5 in a fast food restaurant or Drive-thru? Or you can go to the Promenade in Robina, or cafes in James Street in Burleigh and get a hamburger, chips and cola and pay $30

What’s ths difference? It’s still hamburger chips and cola

Just like you can find cheap bookkeepers in Robina, or you can pay a little more and get a better level of service.

When people go shopping around for bookkeeping rates in Robina, most times it’s because they don’t understand what they are really wanting, or don’t know what questions to ask of their bookkeeper.

What to ask a Robina Bookkeeper

To help you get started, here’s some things we would ask a Robina bookkeeper:

1. Are you a registered BAS Agent? -This is a requirement for Robina bookkeepers preparing/lodging BAS for clients

2. We were going to list them all here, but we though it would be more fun for you to ask us what those questions were.

There’s others that depend on individual circumstances, but this is a start to your list of questions to ask a Robina bookkeeper
